Welcome to our Spotlight on Venues series! We will be sharing some blog posts on our favorite venues in Northern California. My name is Katy, I’m Ginny’s background assistant and an admirer of all things beautiful. I can’t wait to show you some truly wonderful spaces, so lets get started!
Our first venue spotlight is on Olympia’s Valley Estate, located in Petaluma, California. Part of Sonoma County, this site is known for doubling as a full-functioning organic homestead and a breathtaking event venue. Olympia’s Valley Estate has a number of features and amenities to add whimsy and romance to your rustic wedding day.
Blending together the timeless feel of historical buildings, the tranquility of weeping willow trees looking over a pond, and the warm love of light in their open spaces, Olympia’s Valley Estate can be the perfect location for both your ceremony and reception. There are several locations that you can take advantage of: the Weeping Willow Pond, the Hilltop Sunset Area, the Meadow and Walnut Tree, the 1857 Victorian Homestead with accompanying Lawn Area, the Cottage, the Barn, and the Greenhouse.
Wedding prep for the bride’s and groom’s wedding parties are held in the Vintage Home and the Cottage, respectively. Ceremonies can take place in front of a stunning pond surrounded by swaying willow trees, on the hilltop, or in the meadow, letting your guests feel the magic and love in the air as you take your vows. After your ceremony, cocktail hour is provided in the lawn area of the Victorian Home, followed by everyone eating and dancing the night away in the 150 year old two-story barn. Draped with Italian string lighting, vintage chandeliers and sconces embrace a special nook carved out especially for the bride and groom’s table. Without a doubt, all eyes will be on you as enjoy your wedding night.
Olympia’s Valley Estate provides numerous opportunities for you and your spouse to escape away in romance, including but not limited to: a wooden bench swing hanging in an old walnut tree, a blossoming persimmon tree, a hilltop that becomes radiant with light at sunset, and breezy hammock to cozy up in. Wooden wine barrels are available to add to the appearance of the aged wood of the barn, as well as custom draping for the finishing touches of glamour and whimsy.
