Several months back I was contacted by the co authors Thea Dodds and Kathryn Hamm to be a contributor for their book, Capturing Love: The Art of Lesbian and Gay Wedding Photography. and . I . was. floored.
This is my first printed publication. The photo they wanted to use was of one my couples that is so dear to my heart. And… it was actually of one of my first engagement sessions from quite a while ago. As any growing photographer knows, your earlier sessions while you are still developing your style sometimes don’t stick around in your portfolio for long…. but there was something so special about Cesar + Ryan’s chemistry, setting, and love. Although I have had many upgrades in technology, increase in knowledge/skills, and changes in my style since I did this shoot….their photos have a special place in my heart, so I was so excited.

The book tackles a common issue in wedding/engagement photography, but in a new way: How to approach your clients and capture their love in a way that is natural, honest, organic, and inspired. It focuses specifically on same-sex couples, but its knowledge is applicable to so many different scenarios for non-traditional couples.
It is filled with gorgeous photos from 38 different photographers, and provides a wealth of thoughtful advice. Thea and Kathryn, thank you SO much for including us.
