Personal Update: It’s a…..

We had our anatomy ulatrasound about 3 weeks ago…. and then again about 2 weeks ago…. and then AGAIN yesterday! We had a 90% sure guess at the initial ultrasound, which was then confirmed about a week later.

It’s definitely….

A BOY!

I will spare you from the gratuitous male genitalia pictures (he apparrently has a career in dudoir modeling) from yesterday’s scan. Jon Hamm, you have some competition coming is all I can say.

We definitely lucked out by needing to have a third scan done. When some of the anatomy was looking like it needed a closer look by a specialist at our inital ultrasounds, I suffered my first bout of irrational mothering fears. Luckilly, they were just looking at the wrong organ and everything is measuring perfectly and he is looking fabulous! Turned out, we got an extra super-detailed ultrasound which otherwise wouldn’t have been covered, so overall a win. (Sidenote…. do NOT google ANYTHING when you are pregnant, and awaiting a test…)

He’s definitely swimming around in there all the time and Mike was able to feel him move for the first time about a week ago, which was really fun.

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the idea that a human will be coming out of me in mere months. More than halfway there!
