About a week ago I signed a lease on a new studio space! I’ll be located in Santa Clara, right next to Santa Clara University and Caltrain. The building is a restored fruit drying plant from the 1920’s, and my space has the best natural light ever.
But it’s hard to tell that from how it looked starting off. Below is the before picture before any demo occurred:
Yup. Looks pretty un-natural light photo studio, right? Carpet…cluttered….cubicles….
Since then, the glass and wood structure in the middle of the room was removed to open it up:
And then the cubicles were removed, carpet removed, and rubber baseboards were removed:
Which is its current state. Looking a lot better but definitely not done. This week we will be painting and getting hardwood flooring installed over the current plywood base. Although its not near being finished yet, I am so excited about all of the light that pours into this space….hoping that I am completely moved in and up and running by the end of April, and I will be renting it out by the day/half day to other professionals as well.
